The Walker Scottish Rite Clinic held its 18th Annual KidTalk Celebration Gala, Puttin’ on the Ritz, Saturday November 3, 2012. Event was held at Logan College of Chiropractic where SGIG Robert Cockerham, honored guests SGIG Jim Cole (VA) and SGIG William Brunt (NC), and over 200 guests enjoyed an evening of glitz and glamour. The dinner Auction exuded charm with live music, hors d’oeuvres, and open bar a formal dinner, and an exciting auction. Live auction items included vacation getaways, dining experiences, sporting memorabilia, jewelry, and the most adorable “teddy-bear” cock-a-poo puppy. The silent auction encompassed items that appeal to every pastime and interest.

Special entertainment featured mistress of ceremonies Ivy Hartman of STL TV, Avery and Brooks Hayden and the Hayden Family. Twins, Brooks and Avery have been part of the Clinic family for almost three years. They entered care in November 2009, when their mother brought them in for a speech and language screening. Brooks is talkative and energetic and is entertaining to have in therapy. After a break in care, Avery re-entered therapy in March 2012 to work on some of her speech sounds. Avery is inquisitive and talkative and also a joy to have as a client. The evening had something to offer all, and those who attended took home a special gift of thanks.

A heartfelt thank you is extended to our Platinum Sponsors, Delmar Gardens and The Kellogg Family, Gold Sponsors, Carr Lane Manufacturing and Maryville University, and Silver Sponsors, Adams Place Retirement Community, Missouri DeMolay and Moolah Temple Guides Bingo Fund. Finally, a special thank you to Event Chair, Janice Sheets and husband Jim, for their dedication and support in achieving an overwhelming successful evening. The Gala grossed over $104,000 to support the FREE speech and language therapy services provided to children two to six-year old in the greater St. Louis area at the Walker Scottish Rite Clinic.
